627,811. Drying sections of paper-making machines. PAPIERFABRIK BALSTHAL AKT.-GES. July 3, 1947, No. 17574. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1946. [Class 96] The drying cylinders of a paper-making machine are heated by water instead of steam. The hot water supply at 4 may be branched to the felt-dryer rolls 1a, lb, and introduced at about <SP>2</SP>/ 3 -way along the drying section, branches 10, 11 and 12 feeding the upper and lower rolls forwardly and the last third backwardly so that there is a rise and then a fall in the temperature gradient in the section.
