Abstract

A fabric simulating fur employs as pile yarn a blend of conjugate acrylic fibres and non- or low-shrink fibres, subsequent heating causing the conjugate fibre to crimp helically to produce a dense ground fur which supports the unshrunk long pile. The heat treatment may be applied at 100-120 DEG C. by boiling water, steam or dry heat.
