[Class 122 (v)] A dust - excluding device for axle boxes of railway vehicles consists of a flexible sleeve 5 of leather, secured to the axle bar by the washer 12 in the groove 11, and biassed against the wheel 3 by springs 18. In a modification, the sleeve is secured by the outer surface of the axle box by screws.
