Abstract

470,518. Bottles &c.. AMIES, E., and DIXON, M. E. April 17, 1936, Nos. 11005 and 25189. [Class 125 (i)] Anti-drip devices for bottles consist in making the neck or an attachment thereto, incurved at 6, Figs. 2, 4, to form a hemispherical recess, while the mouth 7 is outwardly flared forming a relatively sharp edge. In the case of an attachment 1, Fig. 2, a shoulder 8 is provided and cut-away portions 10 to allow resilient fitting to the neck of a bottle. The attachment may be made of celluloid, casein, synthetic resin or other suitable material. The outer edge of the glass bottle, Fig. 4, is roughened by grinding or otherwise to form a matt surface 11. In case the insertion 1 has a glossy surface exterior to the neck, it is dulled or matted in any convenient way.
