Abstract

469,370. Making iron cartridge cases. STEIN, A. Dec. 17, 1936, No. 34705. Convention date, Jan. 13. [Class 83 (ii)] An iron cartridge case, having a bottom cup c secured to an upper substantially cylindrical part a, has an inwardly and downwardly extending annular flange on the lower end of the part a which together with the adjacent part of the cup c defines an annular groove e which is filled with welding material. An iron cushion d, Fig. 1, is placed between the flange and the upstanding part b of the base c. The part a comprises a longitudinally welded or seamless tube, while the base c is formed by a pressing operation.
