[Class 132 (ii)] The hood of a golf bag is formed so as to secure an umbrella to the bag whether the hood is in the raised closed position or folded down and secured around the bag. The bag of leather or other material is reinforced by a pressed leather base 2 secured to longitudinal leather &c. strips 3a, 4, in which metal ribs 3 are embedded, a leather covered metal ring 5 at the centre of the bag, and a leather covered metal mouth ring 6, the strips 3 being held at their lower ends by a layer 2b of wood, millboard, &c. secured to the base 2. The mouth is divided by a detachable strap 7 to separate different clubs. The side portions 10 of the hood secured in the closed position by a sliding clasp fastener 10a, may be folded back on the bag, Fig. 2, and secured by straps 10h, 10k, one side portion 10 being apertured at 8b to receive the handle of an umbrella which extends into a leather socket 9b, and is secured at its upper end by a strap 8. A pocket is formed by a gusset 10d in one member 10 and closed by a sliding clasp fastener 10g. A pocket 11 for balls, score card, &c. is secured on one side of the bag and a pocket 12 is detachably secured by straps to the other side, both pockets being closed by sliding clasp fasteners. The shoulder strap 15 is detachable and is secured at the top of the bag to a loop 18 or 18a according to whether the hood is open or closed. Tees are stored in openings in a leather attachment to the mouthring.
