[Class 55 (i)] A plug section, Fig. 9, is removably secured to an outer flexible metal portion KA of the door, and includes a metal post S which supports and reinforces shaped refractory bricks, and which is detachably connected at its ends to the metal portion KA. The bricks Q, Q<1>, Q<2> are stacked on a rigid supporting member R<10>, a base plate T through which the post S passes being formed with a recess to take a flange S<10> at the end of the post and with notches T<2> into which fit lugs R<6> on the support R<10>. The upper end of the post projects through an upper plate M<10> which has bolts M<11> by which it is detachably secured to the flexible plate KA, the latter being secured by clamps N<10> to a rigid outer frame H. The flexible plate KA with its sealing strip R<10> is suspended from a shaft L carried by the outer frame member HA. A head brick is recessed to receive the upper end of the bar S which has a hole S<12> to take the hook of a crane when the plug is to be moved or transported. In Fig. 2, the blocks are shown mounted on a rigid support R having a recess R<5> for the post S, and resting on the door frame E, the support being bolted by a flanged portion R<2> to the plate K. The upper part of the post is held in a plate M. The intermediate sealing member, and the clamping means are described in Specification 468,412, and connections between the rigid door frame and the adjacent buckstays are described in Specification 468,276.
