Abstract
467,857. Confectionery;. packing sweetmeats. WHITE, S. M. Feb. 8, 1936, No. 3868. [Class 28 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] An imitation sunshade comprises a stick of sugar rock 1 having a cover of coloured crepe paper 3 wrapped around the stick in pleats 4 and retained in position by a rubber band 6. The stick is tapered, has rounded ends, has a red or other tinted sugar coating, and is covered with transparent paper or cellulose 2. The crepe paper may have stiffening ribs or creases 5 and the ends of the paper may be stuck together or otherwise joined. A wrist loop 7 of coloured ribbon or tape is tied to the handle and fixed by a stuck-on seal 8 which may bear the maker's name. In a modification, the handle is covered with gold, silver or other tinted metal foil and the crÛpe paper is wrapped around the stick in folds instead of pleats. A crook handle may be provided.
