Abstract

467,584. Endless chain conveyers. MORIN, L. H., and COCA-COLA CO. Dec. 19, 1935, No. 35170. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] An endless-chain conveyer for the storage of bottled beverages in a coin-freed vending machine, and feeding the bottles one at a time to a delivery opening 165 in the casing, comprises a series of cup-like sections 100, each adapted to hold two bottles, and connected together by pivoted links 110. The conveyer is supported on a skeleton framework 76, bosses 106 pressed out of the lower ends of the sections 100 bearing against adjustable idler rollers 112, further idler rollers 115, 116, and a star-shaped driving wheel 120. The shaft 123 of the driving wheel passes upwardly to driving mechanism contained in an upper chamber 137 and operated by an external handle, the insertion of a coin operating a clutch incorporated in the driving mechanism to enable the conveyer to be advanced sufficiently to bring a fresh bottle under the opening 165. After each step-wise movement of the conveyer, a pivoted ejector 163, operated by a cam 129 of the driving mechanism, enters slots in the adjacent section 100 and partially thrusts the bottle therein through the aperture 165 whence it can be withdrawn by hand.
