467,262. Pipe fittings. CORNELL, E. S. Nov. 8, 1935, No. 30986. Convention date, Jan. 19. [Class 99 (i)] A T or like pipe fitting 10, comprising a body portion 11 with integral end portions 12, 13 of different diameters and one or more laterals 14, is made of copper or an alloy in which copper predominates and is wrought to its final status by cold working. To ensure a rigid connection between the lateral 14 and the end of a pipe &c. inserted therein, the lateral has a minimum cubical content, represented by its length and mean wall thickness, appreciably larger than the cubical content of the zone of the body 11 which is enclosed within the curve of intersection of the outer surface of the lateral therewith and which has a thickness equal to that of the body adjacent the lateral.
