[Class 81 (ii)] An appliance for setting and bandaging fore - arm fractures comprises an elbow fixing device provided with a horizontal supporting arm 3 capable of being locked against rotation, a counter support 2 preventing the upper arm from yielding backwards and a front supporting rod 4, and a draw device comprising a finger gripping device. 10, 18 pivoted to an arcuate yoke 7 turnable about the axis lying in the direction of the drawing force and fixable in any adjusted angular position, the draw force of a screw spindle 24 being transmitted by means of a fixable ball joint enclosed in a sleeve 21, and a clamp 20 to the yoke. In use, the two separate parts of the appliance are secured by clamps 51 to a support such as a table 5. The clamping plate 18 may be provided with a resilient lining 8 and is movable with regard to a finger grip 10 by means of screws 6<1>. The finger grip 10 may be fixed in any angular position with regard to the yoke 7 by means of a wing nut 14 and-co-operating toothed projections 13. The ball joint may be clamped by operating a screw 23 which exerts pressure on the hemispherical head of an internal bolt. This then exerts clamping pressure on the ball of the joint. The counter support 2 may be freely slidable upon the end of the horizontal supporting arm 3 which is upwardly slidable so that after the application of a bandage the counter support together with the supporting arm may be slid upon the supporting rod, and subsequently both the supporting arm and the counter support may be removed from the gypsum mass by pulling longitudinally. The supporting arm 3 may be slidably mounted on the rod and locked against rotation by means-of a pin.
