Abstract
869,874. Nose shaping. AUFRICHT, G. Sept. 14, 1959 [Sept. 22, 1958], No. 31200/59. Class 81 (2). [Also in Group XX] A spectacle frame has two nose-pads for applying treatment and shaping pressure to the nose and which are fixed to legs, said legs being pivotable in a transverse direction and adjustably mounted on the nose bridge by means which can hold them in temporarily fixed positions. In Fig. 2 a nose pad 35 is mounted on a cylinder 37 which is slidable on and rotatable about the end 28 of a leg 26. The other end 27 of the leg has a loop 31 by which it is adjustably fixed to a nose bridge 25 by a screw 32. The leg may be arranged to be rotatable in two mutually perpendicular directions by using the arrangement of Fig. 5 in which the leg is pivotably mounted on a plate 43 by a screw 46 and the plate 43 is pivoted on the nose bridge by screw 32. In Fig. 8 the end 227 of the leg has a ball 55, which is held in a hemispherical recess in the nose bridge 25, and clip 48. The screw 52 holding the clip on to the bridge may be loosened to rotate the leg 226 in any direction. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 10 the nose bridge of Fig. 8 is replaced by a plate 64 and a clamping plate 67 which are fixed to the nose bridge 125 by a U-shaped clip 57 and screw 59.
