Abstract

462,849. Perforating paper. LOWRY, A. S. Nov. 20, 1935, No. 32095. [Class 31 (ii)] [Also in Group IX] A perforated paper tube for use in the textile industries has the material of the edge or wall of each perforation condensed by mechanical pressure. As shown, the condensation of the material around each perforation is effected simultaneously with the formation of the perforation by a punch 9 which is formed with a cylindrical piercing part 10 and a frusto-conical part 11 which condenses the material around each perforation and forms it with a flared outlet 6 ; the tube 4 is mounted on a rotatable perforated mandrel 7.
