462,436. Multiplex systems. DEKKER, J. M. D. July 14, 1936, No. 19579. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iv)] In the system described in Specification 456,270 in' which the channels are paired by modulation and suppression of different side bands so that the original high frequencies of a pair become adjacent, two separate selective circuits or filters for each pair are used instead of the common filter in the prior Specification. As the narrower band filters can be made with better characteristics than wider filters, the spacing between different pairs of channels may be reduced, or cheaper filters may be used. The spaces between the pairs may be wide enough to cover the suppressed side bands, the receivers being operated without audiofrequency filters.
