Abstract

461,714. Railway -stops. POWIS, J. Nov. 28, 1935, No. 32982. [Class 104 (ii)] Means for releasing colliery tubs &c. down an inclined track comprises one or two stops E carried by sections C of the rails pivoted at c and normally biassed by springs &c. F to keep the stops in the path of the tubs. When a tub is to be released, a pedal lever J is operated to move the rail sections C horizontally into alignment with the track rails B, and while the tub is travelling over the sections C they are maintained in this position by the wheel flanges engaging their sides.
