[Class 16] A method of rebinding books includes the steps of cutting cloth 10 approximately to size for a cover, putting the lettering 12 for the back or spine of the book on the cloth, marking the reverse side of the cloth at 13, 14 according to the location of the lettering 12 for defining the positions of the back strip and boards, gluing the back strip and boards to the cloth to complete the cover, and binding the book in the cover. A stock of pieces of cloth is cut to certain standard sizes, and each piece may have an illustration printed thereon. Where the cloth has not already been provided with an illustration, the latter is printed on the cloth prior to the positioning of the boards.
