Abstract
Spirituous liquors are aged in contact with comminuted oak wood which has been moistened with an emulsin and if desired treated with the flour of fresh acorns or moistened and treated with acorn flour. The wood may also be moistened with a solution of magnesium and/or calcium chloride. The wood is preferably in shaving form and toasted before treatment.
