Abstract

To increase slip and so prevent adhesion between structureless foils made of highly polymeric substances such as cellulose hydrate, cellulose derivatives, gelatine and resinous condensation products which are composed of or coated with material impervious to water vapour or suitable for hot sealing, there is added to the coating or film forming solution not more than 0,1 per cent of solid fatty waxy or soapy substances which remain therein in an undissolved, finely suspended condition. Examples describe coating a cellulose hydrate foil at a temperature of 40 DEG C. with a lacquer comprising collodion cotton, tricresyl phosphate, dammar resin and paraffin wax dissolved in a mixture of toluene and ethyl acetate to which 0,03 per cent of aluminium stearate or 0,05 per cent of ceresin or refined ozokerite (M.P. above 70 DEG C.) has been added.
