Abstract

A plaster consists essentially of calcium sulphate hemihydrate and anhydrite together with a small proportion of or more accelerators for the hydration of the anhydrite one and a small proportion of a retarder for the hydration of the hemihydrate consisting of calcium citrate, succinate, malate or propionate. Accelerators specified are potassium and zinc sulphates. The proportion of hemihydrate in the plaster is preferably at least one third by weight of the anhydrite.
