[Class 56] Relates to apparatus for forming glass articles by pressing glass between an upper mould 2 and a lower mould 3, a too] 7 being provided fox trimming excess glass 4<a> from the edges of the article formed in the moulds. According to the invention, the tool is so mounted that it can be moved into or out of operative position between the moulds. The tool is supported resiliently in a frame 6 which may be pivoted on a pillar 5. The tool is swung out of position between the moulds while the glass is heavy pressed, and is swung into operative position after the upper mould 2 has been raised, the mould being lowered again to press the tool downwards to trim-off the glass 4<a>. In a modified construction, the tool support 6 slides in horizontal guides which may be secured to a rigid frame or to the upper mould.
