Abstract

456,942. Ball joints. TAMPIER, R. J. C., 1, Rue de Bellevue, Boulogne-sur-Seine, France. Nov. 14, 1935, No. 31538. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1934. [Class 65 (ii)] A ball joint, particularly for a lever 4, comprises a casing 2 mounted in an adjustable eccentric ring 15 for varying] the position of the casing on the base 1 and clamped by a nut 16, a fixed seating 7 and a sliding seating 8 in the casing to receive the ball 6, and a sleeve 11 screwed into the uppei end of the casing 2, a spring 14 being interposed between the sleeve 11 and the seat 8 to press the latter against the ball ; the sleeve may, however, be screwed down to press directly on the seat 8. In the form shown, the sleeve is locked by a nut 12 fitting over the end of the casing 2 ; a bored extension of the seating 8 carries a lubricating device 9, and the joint is provided with a cover 13. The lever 4 has a similar joint on its other side ; a stop 17 on the base 1 engages a notch in the hub of the lever.
