Abstract
456,903. Percussive drills. RASCH, L., 7, Magnusgate, Oslo, Norway. May 17, 1935, No. 14525. Convention date, May 18, 1934. '[Class 124] An internal - combustion percussive tool has a striking piston 6 and a motor piston 8 connected by the rod 9 with a crank and flywheel 12 acting as a fan. The piston 8 is also connected to an air compressor piston 19 which supplies air through passages 30, 32 and 31 to the hollow drill steel 2. The fan 12 carries blades 25 which act as a centrifuge to clean the air entering the space 26 which supplies air to the air compressor. The flywheel also drives the rotary shaft 15 through gearing to rotate the tool carrying sleeve 1. In a modification the air compressor piston is made integral with the piston 8, and supplies air to a storage chamber which also cushions the piston 6.
