456,414. Acoustical apparatus. JARNAK, N. P. R., 19, Jernbanevej, Hillerd, Denmark. June 10, 1936, No. 16182. Convention date, June 12, 1935. [Class 13] Acoustical apparatus comprises a vibrating diaphragm associated with resonators formed as straight, curved, or discontinuous tubes, each of constant or variable cross-section, and constructed so that interference can be generated from standing waves therein, the resonators being built so that at least two of them have their resonance frequencies in the proportion 2 : 3. In one form, two open-ended tubes 2, 3 are mounted on a plate 8 to which is secured a ring 7 between which and a ring 6 a diaphragm 1 is clamped. The lengths of the tubes 3, 2 are in the proportion 2:3. In a modification. tubes 2, 3, 4, 5 are mounted on the plate 8. The length of the tube 4 is 2/3 the length of the tube 3 and the length of the tube 5 is 2/3 of the length of the tube 4.
