[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] The tub of a washing-machine comprises a cylinder 1 having an internal bead 5 intermediate its length to which the upturned flange 4 of the bottom 3 is welded. The forming of the bead and the welding are performed simultaneously by rollers 6, 7 having, respectively, convex and concave peripheries, the rollers constituting welding electrodes.
