Abstract
455,835. Type-printing telegraphy. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION, 270, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Lemmon, W. S.) Feb. 7, 1936, No. 3833. Convention date, March 2, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] In a telegraph system of the kind in which segments of synchronous distributers at the sending and receiving stations are individual to the characters to be transmitted, the alternating current which drives the motor 10 at the sending station is relayed for the purpose of driving that 47 at the receiving station also. For this purpose it is superimposed through transformer 29 upon the synchronizing and character signals which are applied through transformer 30 to the circuit 28 feeding the wireless transmitter. The synchronizing signals are generated through segment 15 once per revolution of the distributer brush 12, and a character signal is sent through the appropriate segment 14 when one of the condensers 20 has been charged by closure of one of the keyboardoperated contacts 12. At the receiving station the alternating current for driving the motor 47 passes from the wireless receiver 40 through the power amplifier 45, but is excluded by a filter 51 from the amplifier 52 which feeds the character impulses to a distributer 55 and typeprinter 80. The synchronizing signals pass to a synchronizing system 58, 66, of the kind described in Specification 442,596.
