455,494. Friction clutches. FICHTEL & SACHS AKT.-GES., Schweinfurt, Germany. March 20, 1935, No. 8686. Convention date, May 5, 1934. [Class 80 (ii)] In a plate clutch, each engaging spring 6, carried by the cover plate 5, is centred by tongues 6<c> struck out from a disc 6b which has a flange engaging a bore in the presser plate 4 and which has a bead 6d engaging the face of the plate 4. Each of the disengaging levers 8 is fulcrumed on the rounded edge of an angle bracket 5a secured to the plate 5, and has a depression 14 engaged by knife-edged projections 15<a> on a nut 15 adjustably mounted on a bolt 13 anchored in the plate 4. By this construction, conduction of heat to the springs and levers is minimized. Projections 21b on the brackets 5<a> enter apertures in the levers 8 to position the latter and anti-rattle springs 19 are fitted.
