Abstract

Chlorinated rubber containing not substantially less than 65 per cent of chlorine is stabilized against heat by heating it to 110-145 DEG C. for an extended period of time, preferably not less than 24 hours, in the absence of alkaline materials. Preferably, the heating is conducted at 135-140 DEG C. in the absence of appreciable quantities of metallic salts. Specification 424,561 is referred to.
