Abstract

454,518. Shelters for animals. WILSON, C. D. CARUS-, The Cottage, Hardwicke, Gloucestershire. Jan. 20, 1936, No. 14315/35. [Class 20 (i)] A building for housing cattle is formed with a Mansard shaped roof with windows disposed in the lower steeper slope thereof. Side walls 1 of concrete are erected and the roof 3 is partially supported thereon and partially by internal posts 20, 21 associated with cantilever supports 21<a>. The windows 22 are hinged at their upper ends and when closed their lower ends rest on the upper edges of the walls. The slopes of the roof may be double walled to conserve the heat. A ridge ventilator 26 is provided together with air inlets 27 at the base of the walls. A central feeding passage 5 and side dunging passages 6 leading to drains 33, 34, are also provided. End walls 2 with doors 11, 11<a> form the closures.
