[Class 80 (iii)] Relates to a swash-plate drive comprising three or more individual swash-plate units arranged side by side on a common shaft and with phase difference other than 180‹, the units being so mutually related as regards phasedifference and masses that a balance in any plane containing the shaft axis is produced, and consists in further relating the units, in so far as those parts of the swash rings which are constrained to move in a plane are concerned, that a balance transverse to the shaft, and therefore a complete balance are obtained. Three swash-plates b<1>, b<2>, b<3>, Fig. 1, are secured to one another and to a shaft a, and carry rings c<1>, c<2>, c<3>, each of which has pins d<1> ... d<6>, Fig. 2, engaging swivel blocks e<1> ... e<6> in pistons gl ... g<6>. The swash-plates b<1>, b3 are set at a phase difference alpha in opposite directions from the swash-plate b<2> and, if the weight of the central ring with its pins and parts connected thereto is W, that of each of the others is W sin alpha. The pins d<1>, d<4> are constrained to move in a plane by insets h, the other pins performing a lemniscatic movement. The additional balance, transverse to the shaft, is obtained by arranging that those pins of each unit which do not perform the lemniscatic movement are displaced angularly relatively to the non-lemniscatically moving pins of adjacent rings by an amount equal to the phase difference of the respective units.
