[Class 64 (iii)] A unit of a cast-iron feedwater heater consists of two or more integrally cast tubes a, a<1>, closed at opposite ends and separated by a wall b having apertures c at both ends. The upper and lower tubes of a unit are connected by bends d to the lower and upper tubes of the adjacent units. The flanges of the bends may be extended to form the ends of the tubes and the side walls of the heater, and they may be formed with outwardly extending flanges to receive insulating material.
