454,090. Consolidating concrete by vibration. JACKSON, C., 200, West Luding- ton Avenue, Ludington, Michigan, U.S.A. Jan. 21, 1935, No. 1995. [Class 86] A device for consolidating concrete in which it is immersed consists of an elongated implement fitted with a rotor having axially displaced unbalanced weights which are so arranged that the implement vibrates in a conical orbit, the apex of which coincides with the handle of the implement. In the form shown, the electric motoi for effecting the rotation comprises a stationary shaft forming the stator surrounded by a rotor having the unbalanced weights near its ends. The outer casing 16 is connected to the stem 21 by a length of flexible pipe 22. In another form, the rotor is formed by the shaft and carries the unbalanced weights, while in a further form the casing is carried by a flexible tubular handle which enables the device to be inserted into positions to which there is not direct access.
