Abstract

A brazing-flux is made by adding 75-81 parts by weight of potassium acid fluoride to 37-43 parts of water, boiling the mixture until the fluoride is dissolved, adding 28-34 parts of solid boric acid and evaporating excess water to leave a paste having a volume substantially equal to that obtained by mixing 78 parts of the acid fluoride with 40 parts of water. Water may be added to the paste to give the required consistency.
