452,174. Implements for working land. RISPIN, J. J., Scorton, Yorkshire, and BLOOMFIELD, G. W., 79, Woodlands Terrace, Darlington. May 28, 1935, No. 15542. [Class 6 (i)] A harrow tooth is formed in two parts detachably connected together by a tapered spigot-and-socket joint of rectangular or polygonal cross-section. The upper part or stem a is passed through the harrow frame b and secured by a nut e engaging a screw thread d, rotation being prevented by a square part f. The lower part of the tapered stem a is of square section and fits into a corresponding socket m in the curved toe part i, which has a front transverse cutting edge k. A screw stud n may be passed transversely through the toe i to bear against the stalk a. A hole o, recess, flange, or the like may be provided to be engaged by a punch or other tool to facilitate driving the toe on or off the stalk. The stalk may be arranged so that one of its flat sides or one of its angles is at the front. In a modification the upper part of the toe forms the spigot- and the lower part of the stalk forms the socket, the toe being straight or curved.
