Abstract

Cultivators; harrows.-A harrow, cultivator, or the like, of which the frame is composed of crossed angle-bars a, has the shanks c of the tines grooved as at d to fit into the angles of the under bars, and has the shanks secured to the frame by set-screws e which pass through plain holes in the bars a, simultaneously clamping the frame bars together and securing the shanks in position. The shanks are formed with recesses f at the back to facilitate tapping the thread for the screws. The tine points b are detachable, being provided with a stem g and shouldered feather h, which fit into corresponding recesses in the shank. The sides of the feather are formed with serrations i to improve the grip on the point.
