Abstract
452,058. Fusible cut-outs. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., 11, Holborn Viaduct, London, and BREEZE, H. W., 132, Wrotham Road, Gravesend. May 1, 1935, Nos. 12985 /35 and 6142 /36. [Class 38 (i)] In a fusible cut-out comprising a fusible member mounted in a tubular passage and fuse carrier, expansion chambers are formed at each end of the passage by two pairs of flanges on the carrier co. operating with side and end walls on the base. As shown in the Figure, the base is formed in two parts namely, a base plate 48anc a frame 49 secured to the base plate by a screw 50, the two parts between them forming chambers 10 for the contact blocks 11. The fuse carrier 1 is provided with pairs of projections 5, 8 which in conjunction with the walls of the frame 49 form expansion chambers shut off from communication with the chambers 10. The carrier also is provided with a block 22 which together with the frame part 23 shields one set of contacts from the other. The cut-out is provided with a cover which is retained in position by a projection 30 and a wire which is passed through a hole 31. In a modification, the flanges 8 are dispensed with, the cover of the cut-out then acting as the rear walls of the expansion chambers.
