Abstract
450,967. Valve generating circuits. PADDLE, L. H., 92, Lancaster Road, West Norwood, London. Jan. 3, 1935, No. 216. [Class 40 (v)] In order to reduce the effective interelectrode capacity of a valve-generating system, so as to produce shorter wavelengths, two or more valves are connected in series, and an inductive element is included at one point only in the series circuit formed by the gridanode paths of the valves. As shown in Fig. 9, the grids of the two valves V1, V2 are directly connected so that they work in phase, and the grid-anode capacities of both are effectively in series across the inductance L, which is coupled to a dipole aerial A. The cathode circuit and supply leads are isolated by high-frequency chokes HFC, the bias on both grids being regulated by a variable resistance R. In Fig. 10 the internal gridanode capacities of the four valves V1, V3, V4, V2 are similarly connected in series with the main tuning inductance L. Lecher-wires may be used either as intervalve couplings or for coupling the output to the aerial. Modulating frequencies may be impressed upon the common grid or anode circuits.
