[Class 51 (i)] In a temperature regulating device for furnaces in which a lever 4 is adapted to move under the influence of varying temperatures and to transmit the movement to a member to be controlled, such as a damper, means are provided on the lever for adjusting the distance between the damper or the like and the axis A of the lever at the free end of the lever or at the free end of an adjusting member carried by the lever without substantially altering the leverage, whereby the range of control of the damper or the like may be adjusted. The lever 4 controlled by a regulator 1 is connected to a damper by a chain 2 which may be attached to different points on an enlarged end of the lever or as shown in Fig. 3 the chain may be attached to a cursor 9 slidable in a transverse slot formed in the enlarged end of the lever. In another modification, Fig. 5, an additional lever 12 is hinged to the end of, and is angularly adjustable with respect to the axis of, the lever 4 and may be hold in adjusted position by means of a pawl 14 which engages a toothed sector 13. In other forms the end of the chain is wound on a spool carried at the end of the lever or is attached to a cursor slidable longitudinally of the lever.
