[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 15, 1935.] [Class 64 (ii)] [See also Groups VIII and XVI] Heat- and soundinsulating mats in tended to be placed under floor coverings or on roofs or walls are made by punching pasteboard or the like with dies having a clearance from the corresponding matrices greater than the thickness of the material. The material a is forced into projections b having a loosened structure. Both sides may be punched in this. manner, and the sheets may be arranged in layers alternately with plain sheets, and may. be secured by adhesive.
