Abstract

449,912. Filtering gases. AERASPRAY MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and NEWLIN, H. J., 179, Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham. Jan. 18, 1935, No. 1693. [Class 8 (ii)] An air filter, e.g. for a spray cabinet comprises triangular pockets formed by fabric sheets passing over upper tubular supports 8 and attached to lower tubular supports 9 ; the outer upper ends of the filter are secured to rods 29, Fig. 5, which form air seals with the walls. The ends of the pockets are formed of triangular strips 24 sewn together and at the top sewn to metal strips 26 fixed to the walls as air seals. The lower supports 9 are secured to slidable plates 14 which can be raised against spring tension by a lever 18 and thus alternately slacken and tauten the filter for dust removal.
