448,989. Building blocks. MUNSON, L. S., 409, Calvert Street, Hyattsville, near West Riverdale, Maryland, U.S.A. Nov. 22, 1935, No. 32428. [Class 87 (i)] [See also Group XV] A building-block comprises a rectangular body with a rib 8 on one face, the rib having canted sides and bevelled corners 14, and, in the opposite face, a recess 9 parallel to the rib and of a shape complementing the apex of the rib. The recess is of less depth than the rib, to leave spaces 13 on either side of the rib, which are filled with mortar. Grooves 15 key the jointing mortar. At the corner of a wall, blocks 7 narrower and shorter than the ordinary blocks are used, in combination with plain blocks 16, the blocks 7 having no rib and being shortened on one side of the recess. The blocks may be made in miniature for use as toys.
