Abstract

Rubber moulding powder is produced by treating vulcanized rubber dust with the rectified distillate of rubber boiling between 70-200 DEG C. until the rubber is plastic and evaporating the solvent from the resulting powder. Vulcanizing materials may be added to the rubber during or after the treatment with the solvent. In examples the rubber dust is treated with the solvent for sixty hours in the cold and for 10-20 minutes at 250 DEG F. respectively. Specifications 430,156 and 438,555 are referred to.
