448,164. Surgical bandages. SANDER'S CHEMICAL PRODUCTS, Ltd., 43, Regent Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire.-(Sander, E. ; 2, Schackstrasse, Munich, Germany) Aug. 21, 1935, No. 23485. [Class 81 (ii)] Surgical bandaging material which is waterproof but air-pervious, comprises gauze or other fibrous material 3, impregnated with a polymerisate of vinyl alcohol, acrylic acid, or an ester thereof and secured by adhesive 4 to a layer of gauze 5, a pad 6 of cotton wool or the like being interposed. The gauze may be impregnated by placing it in a layer of a 20 per cent solution of polymerized vinyl acetate in ethyl acetate, on a glass or aluminium tray, and allowing the solvent to evaporate.
