Abstract

447,841. Refrigerating. TOLK, A., 14, Klimschgasse, Vienna. Dec. 24, 1934, No. 36994. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1933. [Class 29] [See also Groups XXVIII, I, and XXVI] Compression machines.- A lubricant separator comprises a vessel 4 divided by a partition 3 into compartments communicating at the base one of which receives the mixed refrigerant and lubricant ; the lighter refrigerant separates and overflows through an aperture 7 to the evaporator ; the lubricant passes into the other compartment and is drawn off through a pipe 6 leading to the compressor. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 the compressor has a byepass controlled by a valve 14, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), carried by a control piston 13 above the outlet valve 12. The refrigerant passes to the evaporator by way of a valve controlled by a float containing wet saturated vapour. The temperature of the cooling chamber is controlled by a vessel 42, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), containing cooling medium, connected with a bellows 43 acting on a lever 44 to control the motor switch 50. The motor may be unloaded at starting by a centrifugal clutch, in place of the byepass, or additional windings may be switched on at starting and switched off under the influence of a vane located in the blast of the cooling fan of the condenser. The compressor bearing formed the subject-matter of Specification 32433/35. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
