446,311. Stop valves. WOOD, H., Bishop Street, Cabarita, near Sydney, Australia. April 24, 1935, No. 12312. Convention date, June 16, 1934. [Class 135] A stop valve has a hollow crosshead 11 sheathing a threaded valve spindle 19 in the fully open position of the valve, the crosshead having spigots 10 supporting two valve plates 8, and side wings 12 to which are fixed leaf springs 15 pressing the valve plates against converging seats 9. Flanges 6 on the valve plates are guided by guide runners 5 at the corners of the valve chest 4. The upper end of the crosshead is threaded to engage the spindle 19, and its lower end has a drain plug 17.
