Abstract

446,202. Pneumatic tyres. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, Euston Road, London, and FIELD, E. F., Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. Jan. 2, 1935, No. 129. [Class 144 (ii)] Alight-weight cycle tyre comprises a bias-cut fabric casing 1 with a rubber tread 2, the folded edges 4, 5 of the casing being butt - jointed and connected by stitching 11, and a base-tape 6 secured (as by adhesive) over the joint. Access to the airtube 12 is provided by a series of unconnected portions 12 of the casing, at which places flaps 7, 8 fitted with press-button fasteners 10 are secured, as by stitching 19, to the edges of the casing. The fasteners, which may be of the kind described in Specification 201,430, may be replaced by lacing connections.
