Abstract
445,783. Cycle lamps. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and HANMER, F., Great King Street, Birmingham. Oct. 17, 1934, No. 29746. [Classes 39 (ii) and 75 (iii)] The socket a on a cycle lamp for engaging a bracket on the cycle is made from rubber. As shown, the socket is attached to the casing b by rivets d inserted through flanges j. Metal angle strips e and an inner reinforcing plate i are secured in position by the rivets d. A projection f on the socket passes through an aperture in the casing and serves, in an electric lamp, as a cushion for preventing rattling of the battery in the casing and also presses the contact at the front of the battery against the contact on the lamp bulb. The projection overhangs the edges of the aperture in the casing to prevent distortion of the socket. The flanges for fixing the socket may be arranged to lie within the casing and the socket may be made in two parts shaped to grip a bracket between them.
