Abstract

444,568. Armour. ADELSOHN, A. H., 10, Grevturegaten, Stockholm. July 21, 1934, No. 21391. [Class 113 (ii)] Armour comprises at least three plates 1 disposed one behind the other and leaving clear intermediate spaces 2. The individual plates are so spaced that, on impact of a projectile the forward plate is deflected back on the adjacent succeeding plate on which it bears with a greater supporting surface than the impact point of the projectile, the second plate being further deflected back on the third and so on. The plates are welded at their edges where they are provided with spacing-members 4. Alternatively, the plates may be welded. The plates may be bulged at their centres to produce the desired spacing.
