442,710. Wire couplings; junction boxes. HOPE, V., Upton Hall, Macclesfield. May 30, 1935, No. 15699. [Class 38 (i)] A connector for use with a looped-in neutral cable and the neutral wires of an installation, comprises a triple cable socket a<1>, a<2>, a<3> formed by bending sheet metal 2, one end 4 of the sheet being located adjacent to the sockets. Clamping screws 6 are tapped into the double metal, and are arranged in the sockets a<1>, a<3> to grip two ends of a looped-in feeder at one side of the connector, and in all the sockets at the other side for the reception of three installation wires. A casing to house the connector comprises a base B with a boss 16 that enters a hole in the connector to locate it and shield it from contact with the fixing screw that passes through the boss 16 and through the cover 10 which is thus secured. Where two or more connectors are to be arranged in parallel in the same system an extension 4<1> on one of them lies between the parts 1, 4 of the other and may fit against either the part 1 or the part 4 as shown. Alternatively, a plain strip lying between the parts 1, 4 of both connectors may be used. The invention may be used with the systems described in Specifications 335,550, [Class 38 (i)], and 365,591.
