Abstract

440,397. Lenses. CHRETIEN, H., 4, Rue Pigache, Saint Cloud, Seine-et-Oise, France. March 26, 1934, No. 9439. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 26, 1934]. [Class 97 (i)] A lens system for photography or projection comprises a divergent component D and two convergent components C, C<1>, each component being corrected as regards spherical and chromatic aberrations for an object at infinity and the component D being on the longer conjugate side of the system. The system is particularly intended as an objective of which the focal length can be varied by displacing the components C, C<1> relatively to the component D and to each other, the displacements being so related that the image plane remains fixed for a given position of the object. The focal length of the component D is numerically equal to the mean of the maximum and minimum values of the focal length of the system. The components C, C<1> are preferably'identical and have a focal length which is numerically greater than that of the component D. Constructional data are given.
