[Class 52 (v)] Brackets for window furnishings are made of sheetmaterial with apertures the sides of which engage with the sides of apertures made in the girder-like rails on which the curtains run, so that the various parts can be assembled without screws &c. Fig. 1 shows a sheet-metal bracket consisting of a body 1 with rectangular flanges 3, 4 and a lug 5 extending horizontally, upwards or downwards. It is engaged with lugs 9 by means of keyhole slots 8. To accommodate an I-section curtain rail, inverted T-shaped perforations 12 are made ; a saw-cut in the lower edge of the I-section enables it to be fixed securely to the lower edge of tone of the perforations 12. Two such saw-cuts are made at each end of the curtain rail to facilitate adjustment for various distances between the brackets. The lower parts of the apertures 12 may have enlargements 19 for receiving means for suspending the pulleys over which move the curtain-drawing cords. A valance may be supported by hooks inserted in an aperture 22 in each bracket, or in a slot on the lug 5, or in a bent metal strip 28, Fig. 4, inserted in the lug 5. An inner valance may be supported by means of apertures 30 &c., in the parts 1, 4, and roller-blind spindles in the apertures 39. Fig. 11 shows an intermediate bracket comprising a T-slot 44 for the upper part of an I-section curtain rail, a slot 45 for the inner valance, and a hook 46 for the outer valance. An L-formed bracket with hook-like parts engageable with the slots 35, may be used for supporting a valance, and plates with studs 9 may be used as backings for the brackets.
